So .. my best friend got hitched... in a Grand and the most Elegant wedding I have ever seen and been a part of. From home decor to the mandap, the flowers, mehendi, the cocktail - formal and informal ;) , haldi , baraat, her makeup, the joda ( designed by the bride) everything was just perfect.
The day she announced "The Date" I had it all planned. I had to do her wedding invite. But I am no machine :) . We planned everything and brought the number of handcrafted paper-cut invites to 20....YAYY !!!
So I set off with discussing Do's and Dont's ; Likes and Dislikes with the bride and the mother of the bride... the two most important people in any Indian Wedding .. oh.. there is the groom as well :) . Anyhow I started sketching and designing with some inspirations and motifs in mind and ended up with 4 designs out of which my 1st design was finalized.
"Ideas out of a fresh mind are always bang on!!"
Yes my work desk was full of paper-bits and cutters and what not for 2 months with glue sticking in the wrong places all the time :) but I got through.
All cards were individually-very lovingly handcrafted one-at-a time.
The envelopes and final assembling, printing and packaging of all the cards was done by working round the clock by my super duper squad of friends :) .
The wedding was a full friend-love event !!
Peacock along with floral motif was the ideal theme for this project.
The sparkling pink color gave it a modern look.
The Paper-cut part of the card was backed with a translucent golden handmade wooly paper which allowed light to pass through when opened.
